Prichard’s Distillery at Fontanel OPENING SPRING 2014!
Prichard’s Distillery opened their first distillery in 1999 in the historic Kelso Tennessee schoolhouse. They will be opening their second distillery location at Fontanel in Spring 2014, complete with tours, gift shop and package store.
Five generations ago in 1822, Grandaddy Benjamin Prichard of Davidson County, TN left his still, tubs, utensils and techniques of the craft to his son Enoch. Suffice it to say that long before they became a “legal” distiller, the Prichard family was known to make the best whiskey in the area. When descendent Phil Prichard opened Prichard’s Distillery in Kelso, TN, he restored a lost art form and produces some of the finest tasting rums and Tennessee whiskey in America.
Prichard’s Distillery at Fontanel will utilize a new French-style copper still, called an “Alembic Still”. Prichard’s will continue to apply their small-batch technique to the production of exceptional, handcrafted American spirits.
All of Prichard’s unique spirits are expressly handcrafted, with most being awarded gold medals and high ratings in national competitions. Most notably are Prichard’s rums, which have all won awards throughout the world as well as receiving praise by noted experts for their exceptional quality.
While visiting Prichard’s Distillery, feel welcome to sample from our exceptional line of handcrafted and traditionally authentic products; our highly rated, gold medal Double Barreled Bourbon will remind you of bourbon made over a hundred and fifty years ago; our traditional New England-style rums and our Tennessee Malt Whiskey are exceptional. Truly a visit to Prichard’s Distillery is like a step back in time.
